(Kept my gear dry too) compression straps hold antlers well, and its pretty durable. \nThe bad: the frame squeaks like crazy, and it drives bme nuts. Warranty says they have a fix for it, but i use it so often i haven't had 6-10 weeks to send it in. This this is incredibly comfortable and a breeze to manage, we hiked roughly 80km over 6 days not including the horse riding. This bag breaks down to 20-30 litres in size for day trips from base camp only carrying your essentials and blows up to 100L for the main pack in/pack out days. We were unsuccessful in harvesting an elk this year but there is no doubt the bag would make easy work of hauling meat if needed. This bag straps in incredibly well to rear horse saddle panniers, and fits inside normal panniers. The top compartment is great for daily essentials so you don't have to break into the main bag (Jetboil, food, lighter, spoon, toilet paper, snacks, knives etc). The side zippers on the bag were excellent for gaining access to cold weather gear quickly. The best part about the bag is how quite it is when slow stalking through thick forest. It also doesn't stick up too high therefore you don't hit every branch when walking through tight trees. I would recommend placing your bag inside your truck when heading on trips as I had mine in the back and was disappointed to find a few spots wore through on the removable top fabric due to rubbing on the way into our staging area (that or only put soft items in the detachable lid compartment while having your bag in the back of the truck), this did not happen to my friends bag right beside mine (MEC Bag). I could easily use this bag from day trips to a 14 day suffer fest. The water bladder holder came in clutch when I would have to refill our water bladders for camp and while hiking the steep foothills.
