This was not to be just a starter vise, but a vise that I would be happy with for the long term. Of course, I didn’t want to spend a ton of money either. \n\nI knew that I had ordered the right vise when I showed up at the local fly tying club and about 75% of the old timers had this exact vise, and some of them were pretty old (the vises). It was amazing to me after seeing so many options, that so many regulars use this one vise. Also of note is that this vise has obviously been around for many many years, and is considered to be the go to vise for a majority in the hobby.\n\nIt does just about everything that I could see you ever wanting to do with a vise, and seems to do them consistently and well.
