Just got back from the beach where we used the Sport-Brella XL. We had some gusty winds and it did great. We set it up as a standard umbrella and not the "tent" setup. It got crowded, but it provided enough shade for all 5 of us (2 adults, 3 kids). I'm glad we bought this umbrella! Incidentally, I've never heard of Scheels, but they were the only place I could find that had the Sport-Brella in stock (the primetime online giant didn't even have it). Also, Scheels price was better than the online giant.
Very pleased with this. Comes with a rod to insert to twist and a place to attach it. Held up good in the wind on the beach. Easy and fast to set up. Definitely deserves 5 stars. Would like to mention the shift with the umbrella attached will slip down farther than what u set it. To b fair it was very windy on the beach and it slipped very slowly. I left the rod in the same hole to twist with to prevent the slipping. Also with that much wind it kind of worked loose. Only mentioning incase these help. We probably shouldn't have had it up with that much wind but it worked great. Thanks for the awesome product.
My previous Sport-Brella last 7 years, with frequent use at the beach. Unfortunately, this Sport-Brella came completely apart on only the second beach outing. Scheels emailed a return label and asked to have the product returned before issuing a refund. Thankfully, the box it came in had not gone out with the trash yet or finding a box to fit a large umbrella would’ve been difficult.
