We got it for use with our GSD service dog. It does a great job on the lowest setting and the vibrate and tone to get her attention. The vibrate did die less than a year of use which is why it's only getting 4 stars. This is a great choice for a beginner. Just don't use this on the highest setting and take it off when not in use. We tried a satellite fencing type collar. It was inconsistent and would shock, even if I set to vibrate. Our dog would cower at the door with it. These offer no control or consistency \r\nSport dog worked great right out of the box. A whole different dog when he wears it. Post charge, he volunteers for it, walking right up with a lowered head for it. He responds well to tone only, returning straight to my side and sits, just as we learned for the “here” command on the leash. As advertised, he loves to run with the wind in his face without a leash. It’s improved his confidence and trust, as well as mine. Works well in water and out. Awesome to enforce learned commands. Best commutations device ever.
