Designed for use with the Krux EVO and Xcurve frames to support the weight of your rifle, the Quick Release Sling secures your rifle to the pack while still offering easy and fast access without taking the pack off. A unique design of quick release buckles and webbing, this system keeps the rifle barrel profile behind you, out of your field of view and protected from the brush. One pull on the upper strap tether and your rifle is free for rapid access. The Quick Release Sling allows you to carry your weapon on either side of the EVO Frame or the right side of the Xcurve Frame.

Quick Release buckle makes it easy to access your gun without removing the pack
Designed to carry and weight support weapons with the frame
I love to carry my rifle on my back, but that causes issues when a guy gets in to action. This solves my problem. Quick access and it still gives me the freedom of not carrying my rifle. It attaches easily to my Krux Evo frame. Happy I purchased!
The sling worked great for holding my gun while hiking in and out of the hunt area, I put an extra strap around my gun because testing out the quick release at home I accidentally pulled the release and my gun almost fell to the ground, so for me it's not quick release but I'm fine with that.
I hooked my Stone Glacier gun sling to a small backpack that I will use on an upcoming New Mexico Elk Hunt. I took it for a trip around the yard and it carries all the weight of my rifle with hands free to use my binoculars with ease.
I purchased this Quick Release Sling for a Sitka 6200 Mountain Hauler pack. This sling was not specifically designed for the Sitka 6200 but it works well. I was able to attach it directly to the frame. Overall great product that can be adapted to other brands of packs.
This is great addition to my pack! Last season in WY my rifle was slipping off shoulder every 100 yards or so. Not anymore, this allows you to keep your gun secure and within easy access, leaving you to focus on the trail or keep your eyes open for game.
All I can say is that folks wanting to know how to treat their customers could take a lesson from these fellas. I initially received an incomplete shipment. I contacted SG to inform them and clarify and was IMMEDIATELY responded to. I had a hunt coming up in a few days and Was overnighted an entire quick release package before the hunt. Its not just the shipping or quick response. Its the caliber of people that BELIEVE in their product and way of doing business that sets companies like this apart. Thank you for doing what you do, guys.
I haven’t been able to use it in the field yet, but I’ll be spending Feb 2nd-9th 2020 in Mexico for a Desert Bighorn hunt (which I bought this for). As far as trying it out around the house, it’s earned 5 (FIVE) Stars
I was surprised on how small the package was. It weighs next to nothing. After installation(very simple), I loaded my rifle onto my pack and snuck around the house for a while making cow calls, simultaneously annoying my wife. I drew down on our chicken a few times. After some practice with the quick release, I was able to get the rifle to my shoulder effortlessly. It was smooth and fast. Far smoother process that unstrapping it from my pack or slinging it off my shoulder. Will be putting it to good use this upcoming season.
I've used the sling on two hunts this season, a multiday KY hint where I put on a out 25 miles, and a full day of still hunting in NE Ohio. Works as advertised, very easy to get off quickly, and quietly, with little movement. You do have to take your pack off to reattach, which I thought would be a problem, but turned out to work great. Overall, great purchase. Will keep using whenever I have my pack on.
Works great! Holds your rifle tight to your pack doesn't flop around. Easy to release when wearing your pack but won't release when you don't want it to. The extra straps don't get in the way when not in use I leave mine on all the time.
The quick release sling has been a savior for the kind of hunting I do. Having My hands available for glassing or climbing steep hills is pretty key.... but also knowing that your rifle is accessible in just a few seconds is a must for me. Thank you for another great product
Really like the weapon sling, and used this to tote my rifle in N.M. recently. I would recommend a neoprene scope cover if using to keep scope off buckles. The sling kept my rifle snug against my pack, and it was easy to install. Pay attention on how to tuck the pull strap in correctly. Overall a great product and addition to another great product in the SG x-curve frame and pack.
Experience was awesome with one design flaw. The Solo packs zippers are in the closed position towards the side of the rifle sling and rifle when mounted. During a 5 day backpack hunt in Utah, the zipper loop caught and tangle up with rifle bipod. Future pack models should have all zipper closures away from sling mount side. Overall a game changing piece of kit!
Wasn’t positive I would be using it, but after a week with it I’ll likely be taking the slings off my rifles. Saves your shoulders on long hikes and it is so simple to use. Doesn’t bounce around at all and stays very secure. Do yourself a favour and pick one up.
It works great for holding the rifle on your pack and getting it off with out removing your backpack, but don't expect to be able to get it off and up to your shoulder quickly if you bump a deer, butstock of the rifle gets caught. If you have a small hip belt and a large pouch on the right side, the rifle will also constantly bump into it.
I have trouble getting this sling to hold my rifle securely to the pack. If I lean forward to crawl under a log or something, my rifle will flip around in the sling and flop forward. If you're just walking through open country, it is fine but if you're maneuvering through stuff, it's not the best.
I used this last October on a Colorado elk hunt. Note: this was a solo backpack hunt so carrying 50lbs of gear in and out. I would have given the sling a 5 star rating had I only ever walked up hill or flat ground. The problem is coming down hill. I have a rifle with a 4-16-42 ATACR Nightforce scope so it's a bit on the heavy side and this would cause the rifle to rotate in the bottom sling forward due to gravity. So, I was constantly having to shove the rifle back to keep the scope from running into my arm all the time. Maybe it would help to have a lighter scope but I doubt it. I could also have used a compression strap to lock the rifle in but then would lose the ability to use the quick disconnect feature. So, works pretty well but not perfect.
I really like the thought behind this kit. The installation wasn’t effortless, but it wasn’t tumultuous either. It takes a bit of back and forth adjustment to get the butt saddle right where you want it, but once it’s set, it’s set. This eliminates so much hassle on toting a rifle through nasty terrain. No more slings. No more dropping the pack to access your rifle. Nothing less than the best, from the best.
Installation video was a little difficult to follow along with, and my gun flops around a lot. I think I bought it with the wrong application: I was looking for something sturdy so I didn’t have to carry my gun as I climbed mountains for days, not necessarily something that I can quickly grab my gun. There are ways around this, meaning I’m not using the sling at all, but I would still appreciate something sturdy to put on the side of my pack.
Great idea, but mediocre execution. The gun wants to roll forward when my Sky Talus pack is loaded. So I can use a compression strap to make it work for pack-in, but that eliminates the quick draw feature.
I actually haven't had a chance to use my sling yet, however my brother has one on his Stone Glacier pack and it performed flawlessly on our week long Colorado Mule Deer hunt this last year, I ordered mine the minute we got home and it was very easy to install, just watch the video on the Stone Glacier website to make sure you order the right sling for your pack frame. All of my Stone Glacier gear is top notch, 5 stars for sure!!
Greatest thing on the planet! You can’t even feel your rifle and it pops off in two seconds when needed! I Talked a few buddies into ordering the sling this season already. Some have a SG pack some don’t but they figured out a way to fasten it on theirs and they love it! Great sling, great packs, keep it up!
This is a good product I have used it for two hunting seasons many many miles. though I like it it only worked right the first couple times. If they would have not put the colored piece at the end it would have got 5 stars the stitching catches and gets stuck so multiple times I had to remove the pack to get the rifle off. It holds good and does not come off even on horseback I like it. Just wish I didn't have to cut off the part that gets stuck
