The velcro holds very well, so no matter now much my child kicks and tries to kick them off, they stay on. The opening is pretty wide which made getting on and off relatively easy! It's always a struggle to get a baby foot in a shoe, but these were pretty flexible and there was no struggle. The quality of these pretty nice, there are some loose strings but nothing noticeable. The 'fake' laces add a very nice touch to the overall aesthetics of the shoe.
