Customer Service, do better.","text":"We've been Traeger owners for close to a decade and finally decided to upgrade to a newer, bigger model. After only a few uses over the span of one week of owning the Ironwood XL, the temperature would have huge fluctuations (between 500-320) and once food was on, the temp would fall and not come back up. Customer Service recommended replacing a part (Which I would have to install myself). At this price point, and the amount of time invested in figuring out the issue, I am not interested in replacing a part. I want my NEW grill to function correctly for some time (with proper care on my part, of course) which I don't believe is an unrealistic expectation. Since it was brand new, I requested to exchange for one that functions properly. I got the run around for an entire day. Supervisors Carlos and Albert wasted so much of my time and energy. The whole customer service team repeated the same unhelpful and scripted phrases over and over, with zero intention of doing anything besides nothing. Also, it's really frustrating to be spoken to like you're an idiot.\nIn short, Traeger is great if it works. First are the wheels. They suck. WORST WHEELS EVER!!! The front wheels are caster and they pop off very easily. I did not realize they pop in and out and thought they broke. To get it back on you will need 2 people. One to lift the grill and the other will need to push (not twist) it back on. Very bad design. The rear wheels are fixed and not casters so it is nearly impossible to move the grill. All 4 should be on casters so you can easily move the grill. This is the worst part about the grill and it biggest design flaw and wish the rear legs had caster. \n\nThe top adjustable shelf is problematic. If your cooking something larger like a whole chicken you will need to remove the top shelf so it will fit. We love the super smoke. This grill replaced our smaller Traeger (CostCo Silverton) that we had for 6 years and this is a big step up. This grill does use A LOT more pellets but then it is almost twice the size of our last grill. Occasionally we do have an issue with the grill not turning on. You push the power button and nothing happens. Not sure why but if I turn if off and back on it usually comes on. It does run a bit hot. If I set the temp to 400 it seems to keep it at 425 according to the display. Our old one ran cooler. I was concerned about the ease of cleaning this one, but I have to admit it is easier to clean than our old one.
