I’m happy to say it’s much easier to use and seems effective. The knobs on the handles are treat for trigger pointing any hot spots. Often it might hurt one place but the real issue is a tight spot somewhere else. Just a quick roll with this hand held foam roller and I can identify the spot easily! Then I work out that knot in that specific spot. Being hand held, I can bring it to races and leave it in my car for long trips. My kids have each used it at times especially my son who is a wrestler. My daughter uses it after being on her feet all day at work. We have saved ourselves many trips to the doctor not to mention helped alleviate aches and pains quickly. The bumps on the stick are perfect for helping message out the knots and pain, just make sure to watch the videos and learn how to use it correctly. It still does the job, but I feel like I have to go over an area multiple times because the gaps are too big to hit all my muscles evenly in one roll. I also feel like they varied the texture just for the sake of appearance - the longer, horizontal ridges on the left and right sides of the roller pretty much do nothing and are hardly used.
