I'm on the shorter side (5ft). The height of the boot hit at mid-calf. I also have muscular calves and had no problem getting these on. They are comfy once broken in but the bottom can be a bit slippery. They're super comfortable and have been since the first wear. The only \"downside\" is that the zipper is a bit hard to close sometimes because of the metal used, and the leather on them is soft so the white strips pretty easy, but overall they're great. But seriously, I wear cowgirl boots every day and go dancing at least twice a week, and these are hands down the best boots for dancing. I attended not just one, but two, three-day dance festivals in less than a month and the only reason my feet survived each day was because of these boots. When I say that I danced almost 14 hrs each day in these boots, I'm not exaggerating.
