I bought this a Mother's day gift for my wife and we have used it camping and fishing on the boat, and she just loves it. It is lightweight yet very warm and she loves the thumb holes in the sleeves as well. Her favorite jacket.
Received the shoreline jacket with holes in. The first time I wore it I noticed the threading started to come undone. I had high hopes for this jacket for work, but it is simply not durable. Customer service has not been prompt nor helpful to resolve this.
Purchased this jacket for rainy Oregon coastal walks and hikes. The value, quality and fit are perfect. The fabric and weight are very comfortable and the extra features such as multiple pockets, 2 way zipper, perfect fit hood and soft mesh lining are much appreciated by this customer. My husband wears Carhartt pants, jackets, socks so thought I'd try the brand for myself. I couldn't be happier!! Thank you Carhartt for my perfect rain jacket!! ?????
I love this jacket!!! I bought the deep wine color and it is pretty. Great fall color. It has 8 pockets. The rain literally falls right off this jacket and keeps you dry. It runs a tad big but good for layering. Has a detachable hood. It is long enough to cover your butt. Has thumb hole sleeves. The zipper unzips on each end for when you are sitting you can unzip from the bottom. The only thing I don't like about it is it's kind of noisy when you move your arms, from the material it's made from.
I bought this jacket in late spring but held off on reviewing until I could put it through its paces. I can now confidently recommend this coat as a legit rain coat that's both well-designed and stylish. I've been wearing this out in the woods while hiking, birding and foraging all fall, rain or shine, and it's the perfect weight and warmth -- and even in some heavy downpours, it kept me dry. Love all the pockets and LOVE the green color that I was lucky to snag before it sold out.
I'm 5'9" with long arms and the size small fits me perfectly, with enough room underneath for a mid-layer on really cold mornings.
I work in slaughter houses and wear this jacket every day, so it gets washed multiple times a week. I've had it for maybe two years. No holes and still has good color. I wear an insulated shirt and flannel under it and it has stayed waterproof and with the dark purple color is had not showed any staining from blood or manure. This will be my go to again when mine finally wears out. I'm really hard on work wear and this had been amazing.
i’ve read some say it’s too big even in their size; i’m normally a medium but often will buy large as i like extra room for comfort & when i read that i was worried the large would be too big however i’m so happy i got the large & i could fit a hoodie underneath when necessary but even without having to do that the size fits great & i am only 5’2 so i was also worried about it being too long & looking like a dress but it hits me about 3/4 of the way up my thigh so i think that’s perfect i feel well covered & protected. the hood is perfect as well not too baggy or big & there’s drawstrings on the hood & velcro on the outside of wrists along with the drawstrings inside the waist so it’s perfectly customizable is these ways. i didn’t know about the thumb holes until after i purchased & i’m not hating them one bit. i love all the pockets as it doesn’t make the jacket look or feel bulky. i’m thinking a medium would have fit but might have been a little tight if i had a big hoodie underneath so i’m very happy with my purchase! can’t wait to get rained on now
This is the perfect workwear rain jacket. It's light enough to be packable and to layer with, but thick enough to be durable. The cuffs keep rain out and the inside layer is very breathable. It also feels cozy while being not very heavy. Great look and fit too.
I love this jacket. There are so many pockets I don't have to carry a bag when I go out as I can fill the pockets without looking overstuffed. It fits well over a base layer and tight fitting sweater or hoodie. I've worn it in the rain, in the snow, and was able to keep warm and dry with proper layering. I ordered the M, I normally wear a size L jacket in other brands just to fit my broad shoulders. I like that it's fitted to the body as I have broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and broad hips (I'm 5'10 and about 180lbs). The only fit problem I have is that the sleeves are a bit short - which I have noticed on all Carhartt women's clothing. There is also a bit of early wear on the thumbhole cuffs - from brushing up against rough surfaces.
I was a mail carrier and last spring/summer while wearing my jacket on my mail route I was attacked by a pit bull dog and he knocked me on the ground and chewed me up, but never ripped the jacket and protected me from having stitches etc. the dog dug in deep into my arms so only soft tissue damage and bad bruising. My coat still looks brand new. Thank you Carhartt!!
I really like this rain jacket and I have gotten a lot of compliments on it as well. The only possible upgrade that would be nice would be something like a pull string in the hood (like on hoodies), this may help hold the hood in place better when you’re working in the rain, not just walking in it.
I was finally able to wear my jacket during a down pour loading a vehicle for about 20-30 mins. It kept me completely dry the whole time! After I was able to come back inside I shook my jacket out and hung it up. Y'all I came back about a half hour later and my jacket was completely dry!!!! Not only that, with the Newberry Hoodie on under my jacket I was nice and warm! Everyone love's my "fancy" jacket and I get a bunch of complements. I send everyone straight to Carharrt!
I love my Shoreline Jacket! It keeps me dry on rainy days and with a hoodie under it, it keeps me nice and toasty warm on cold rainy days. The rain just rolls right off of the jacket. So far this has been my winter coat but it hasn't gotten to cold this winter in Kentucky yet. All you need is a hoodie or sweatshirt under it to keep you warm. I bought the balsam green and the color is exactly what it looks like on the website, kinda an Army green. I also love ALLLLLL the pockets!
Bought these for the maintenance and grounds crew in men's..the guys loved their's so much that I had to try the lady version.. It has been the best weather Gear for comfort and keeping dry warm and keeping momentum with the team and being sure to keep up with all their needs as they work so hard for so many hours and days of mother natures relentless fall and winter season so far.. I am forever a Carhart girl and my team is greatful for Carhart and finally finding a gear that holds up the many demands of our work duties.. Keeping dry.. comfy.. warm.. Really makes the difference!
Love the jacket! It fits well. I like the seaming ,it makes it fit with ease. I originally did not get the color I wanted, but am very pleased with the dark olive I chose. Also, the zipper that you can open from the bottom once zipped up and the thumb hole detail are great!
Ok so I buy alot of carhartt stuff (a free walking advertisement for them lol) and recently just started getting it straight from their site. I am 5'2'' 145 pounds so I'm short have hips and on have a little pudge on my tummy bc I'm a mom. I usually order medium but I thought I had to go up a size so I could wear clothes underneath so I got a large, big mistake they were HUGE (i got jacket and pants). I am a landscaper and for Christmas my boss got me rain gear so I had to go back to him and ask him to return them and order them in medium, which was embarrassing, so I got the medium and they are still huge! Wayyyy too long and even after tightening them I have to roll them at the top. I advise if you are my size or near to get a small or even extra small , I cant bother my boss once again with this so I am stuck with a very expensive rain jacket and pants that look ridiculously big on me which is a big bummer so I hope this helps someone ! There were no reviews for me to read :(
Super versatile jacket. I only wish it was a tad bit warmer! The fit allows you to layer though for extra warmth. I use the sizing tool and it told me I was a 2x so that is what I ordered, with needing extra layers under it’s a perfect fit. If I wanted a TRUE fit I would size down.
Great fitting and looking jacket. Was disappointed that after 3 days of wearing brand new coat, we got a significant amount of rain and the coat did not keep me dry. Overall fit was true to size, and like the oversized pockets. Hesitant to recommend to others looking for true waterproof protection. My husband has the men’s version and has had no issues with his that he has had for years.
This jacket is great for days when the rain is coming down and you need to work outdoors. There are plenty of pockets to store your things in. I love that there are both zippered and buttoned pockets for extra security. The front of the jacket can zipper/button close so you don't have to fight the wind. The hood easily detaches and reattaches using buttons. Everything is just the right length for me. In the rain, the water just beads up and rolls off. This is not a great jacket for warmth, you will want to wear something warm underneath on cold days. This is my new favorite jacket to wear for work or just running errands, I highly recommend it.
This is a great looking and functional coat. Due to the amount of pockets you are limited on where you can have it embroidered, I went with having it done on the yoke. Used for a fishing trip this past weekend and it kept me warm and dry.
