I just bought these yesterday in store for a hiking adventure in the alpine lakes. It was a 7 mile hike with rugged terrain and a fair amount of rooting. The condition was moderate. I was a bit skeptical, but these shoes held up so well. They felt like the lighter version of the Mountain Cascade with less bulk and equal amount of comfort. I wear the usual 6.5 size and it fit like a glove. There was no discomfort. I got a ton of mud and dirt on these, but they were easy to remove. I love the grey, blue and yellow color!!!
Just some feedback for the Danner product team -- typically you all do such a great job on colorways for women's footwear, avoiding the trap of needlessly feminizing (I have several pairs of Jags and am eyeing the Bull Runs). However, it feels like you missed the mark a bit here with the 2650s. I talk to a lot of women on the trail who are sick and tired of teal/baby blue, coral/salmon, and pink/purple accents & colorways. Seems to be the case here, where the color selection is either noticeably feminine or ultra-bland. My two litmus tests for footwear are (1) can I clock it as "women's" within a few seconds and (2) if I go to the men's page, do I get instantly jealous of all the cool options available (charcoal/goblin blue is absolutely killer!). I suggest either extending men's sizes down or returning to kick-ass colorways for women. I'm hiking the PCT in 2021, and would love to have a pair of Danner's on my feet for the occasion -- but I'm not settling for feminine or bland gear.
I. LOVE. THESE. SHOES. This is my second pair of the Trail 2650s. I wear them as an everyday shoe, and they are comfortable, lightweight and durable. In fact, I had my first pair for almost a year before I thought 'how long have I had these, I might need to order a new pair.' Needless to say, I am extremely happy with this shoe and I love the new Gray/Blue.Spectra color scheme. I will keep buying them in future.
