I followed the boot sizing guide, and ordered two different sizes based on the Danner sizing guide, my foot size, and prior hiking boot experience. I also ordered the Dual Layer Comfort Footbed in the coordinating sizes. My foot size is 8N women’s, in running sneakers and trail-runners I wear an 8. 5, and the size of hiking boots I wear will vary based on the boot but usually I wear size 8. 5 or 9.\nI ordered both the 8. 5 and 9. I tried both sizes on with the insert footbed and my hiking socks. I wore them around the house for a couple of days. The size 9 was too roomy, I had a lot of foot slide and heel movement which created concern for blisters and jamming my toes. I chose the 8. 5 and returned the size 9. I wore the boots this past spring on a moderate 5 mile hike to break them in, and I noticed some potential hotspots and painful toes. I then hiked a moderate 12 mile hike and my feet were destroyed. Unfortunately, I was not aware of Danner’s Run Times 3 shoes - Comfort Guarantee within 30 days from purchase. Not very transparent on the website, one needs to dig for this information.\nI’ve only wore these boots twice. \nThese boots are awful. I don’t know what went wrong with the fit other than they are not\ntruly made for hiking. They feel more like factory work boots. It was once I was on the trail did I learn how little flexibility the boots have. They are very stiff. My other thought is the comfort footbed sold through Danner for the boots may also be part of the problem because they may lift the foot within the boot causing it to be \nill-fitting?
