The high-waist is very flattering. For reference, I am 5'0\", 103 lbs. I wear a size 2 in KUIU (I had to hem them), and I ordered a size 2 Petite in the Kortni. I typically wear 28 longs. I ordered 6L, they were very snug around my waist, they were mid rise on me and not long enough for me. I exchanged for 8L, these fit my waist comfortably, the length is much longer, almost too long, and they are high rise, nearly above my belly button. Overall, they are comfortable, stretchy, love all the pockets. I just wish the proportion of the sizes were more consistent. The 6&8 seem to have a considerable difference in fit aside from the size. I got them as a gift and for a long time thought they were fishing pants. I am an avid upland hunter and am also a prairie biologist so I year round I am out in the field. I wear them multiple times a week in the tallgrass prairie through buckthorn and thistles and they work great. A bonus is they're water resistant and I can walk for quite a while in chest high grass and they don't let water in right away. They eventually do, but that's a given. They've saved me from boot fulls of water crossing streams numerous times. I hope DSG continues this line. They are high waisted and the waist seems a little small so go up a size. They're super comfortable, easy to move around in. The vents on the side save me in the summer heat!! AND THE POCKETS ARE AMAZING. You can actually fit your cell phone in them and there's plenty of them. Super useful when I'm in the field!!
