I think because this style is more of a slip on, where the tongue of the shoe is seamless to the shoe whereas the other air max shoes the tongue is not built in. I ordered a 7.5 so I'm hoping they won't be too big now. Also, they are narrow so if you have wide feet, they will be tight.
