Our Mazda CX-5 has two threaded fittings at each corner. The Landing Pad 11 is only long enough to use one of these. The single screw is 6mm, which is frighteningly small for a 165 pound payload. \n\nYou have to be careful not to tighten the fasteners much at all because you will bend the sheet metal strip that holds the fittings. I only recommend these for fairly light use and certainly with additional ties on the bow and stern of a boat. Once installed, they do feel surprisingly secure, but I worry about any uploading caused by wind and bumps. I would expect the sheet metal fittings to suffer a fatigue failure with extended rough use.\n\nMy plan is to eventually pot metal pads over both roof fittings and attach the Landing Pad #6 to these pads. This is certainly too much work for the average person, but the result will be more secure and have a much smaller profile.
