me and my wife finally got us a yeti 45 after using all the other products. and I LOVE IT!!!! we broke it in with a BBQ and it held a lot more than 26 cans, kept them beyond cold. with the use of the YETI ice and a small amount of bag ice. I would recommend this product to anyone wondering if they should get it. once again yeti blows me away with yet another great product!!
I was really excited about purchasing my yeti 45. Couldn’t wait to get it in the mail. I just used it for the first time. Unfortunately it didn’t keep the ice for 24 hours before it started to melt substantially. After two days it was mostly water. I had heard stories of keeping ice for 4-5 days and that was not the case. A little bummed out over this.
My Tundra 45 is literally built like an Abrams Tank! Have owned most major brands as many have also, but this is not only going to be outdoors but day-to-day also, securing other personal property with utilizing both “Bear” padlocks I can keep property secure and low profile in the home, so it’s a win-win for me. Yeti never lower or compromise your quality standards. Also, thank you very much for your military/first responder program, we’ll be doing business for many years! Next is to acquire one of your terrific camping chairs!
This is the third yeti I’ve bought and will be my new everyday carry. I had a 35qt but it wasn’t enough for everyday it just didn’t have enough room. So I sold that one and bought a 75qt, but really it’s to big for everyday and I cannot get a camouflage seat cushion for it. Now I have this 45qt and it’s perfect hase just enough room for everything I need, and it’s easy to move around full of ice. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great cooler with room for the things you want but still being easy to maneuver from place to place.
This cooler has served me well over the past several years. From chilling beer and keeping the weekend's food fresh and cold to casting at tailing reds while standing on top of it and serving as a fireside seat. I use my Tundra 45 on all of my longer excursions and it has proven its durability and utility time and time again.
I bought this cooler at Ft buchannan Puerto Rico at the exchange last year and I have taken it almost every where on the island fill it with my favorite beer throw some ice on them and go beer stays cold that’s it
Once I get to an area I want to fish and lower my trolling motor, I move my Tundra 45 to the bow of my boat and stand on it to fish from (trolling motor has a remote control. I applied a piece of adhesive grip material to the top of my Tundra 45. Fish on!
Been wanting one of these coolers for a while but I held back due to cost. I know the saying “you get what you pay for” but I still didn’t want to spend the money. So I went and got a yeti wanna be and it didn’t do as I expected. Got another brand also yeti look a like and same thing, it was ok but not what I was looking for and it leaked. So it was time for me to get my beloved real yeti. Tried it out precooled it with some yeti ice packs and added some ice and it held a couple of days. Did not need more proof Yeti works and it doesn’t leak; you do get what you pay for. I am very happy with it Just sad it took me so long to get one.
I purchased a Tundra 45 cooler in the ice blue color from a Dick's Sporting Goods store on November 21, 2018. I am currently using the cooler inside my house where the room temperature is a constant 67 degrees. I initially put 32 pounds of ice in it and 3 cans of beer. As the days went by, I added more cans of beer, sodas, and bottles of orange juice as space became available. The ice I put into the cooler initially is referred to as the "sacrificial bag of ice". I drained the ice melt once a day. Once the remaining ice had reached the halfway amount, I put an Accurite thermometer purchased at Lowes to measure the inside temperature of the cooler above the ice level. It registered 36 degrees, and remained so for days. By the 8th full day, I still had a big chunk of ice left that probably weighed about 3 or 4 pounds. I got tired of waiting for the rest of the ice to melt, so I ended my test. I was very impressed. In fact, I was so impressed that I bought a Tundra 65 cooler in the ice blue color from Dick's Sporting Goods on December 7th. The Tundra 65 cooler works great, too, as I am currently testing it out. Eventually one cooler will end up being used in my car for trips to the supermarket or farmers market when I purchase salads, cold cuts etc. to keep them fresh until I get home. I should point out that I am not the only one in my household who loves Yeti coolers. The Tundra 45 is situated on top of two round backless bar stools I bought years ago from Target. The Tundra 65 is placed on top of a small table. Both coolers are located about 3 feet high to make them easy to drain. I can just use a small bucket, or an empty Tidy Cats litter pail to drain the ice melt. So by now you must have guessed that my house cats love my Yeti Tundra coolers, too. They like to sleep on top of the coolers --and I had anticipated this months ago before I bought my first Yeti cooler. So I have large bath towels draped over the coolers to keep them clean and scratch free. I buy my bags of ice from Shoprite supermarkets. The ice is very good. Some stores sell ice that is mostly chipped ice. Chipped ice will melt rather quickly in a cooler. Look for bagged ice that actually has larger ice cubes so you will have great results with your cooler. I highly recommend that you get a Yeti cooler. They are great.
I bought my YETI at the end of summer so I probably got one use out of it with keeping product cold. It did it's job. This review is more for how well the YETI kept warm. I was in charge of the turkey this past thanksgiving and I had smoked a 25lb turkey. Long story short, the turkey was ready 4-5 hours before our set time for dinner. We didn't want to leave it on the smoker because of possibly drying out the turkey so we covered it with towels and stuck it in the YETI for 4-5hours and when we pulled it out, it was still steaming, warm, and very moist! Def worth every penny!
Now look here. This Yeti cooler is no ordinary cooler...It’s an icemaker. This cooler is the best thing I have bought in my 26 years of being alive. This past 4th of July weekend me and my buddies were out East in New York. The weekend was a solid 80 degrees, a little humid and sunny for 4 days straight. This cooler was our lifeline that weekend. We were hauling to the beach, leaving it poolside, throwing it in the back of the car...It was all over the place. It was constantly getting refills of our adult beverages of choice...but never ice. If you put a 5lb bag of ice in there, expect about 10lb’s of ice after 48 hours or so.
My girlfriend bought this cooler for our trip. Didn't keep ice like Yeti said. Will be looking at other brands and way over priced cooler. It's sad that your yeti beer koozey keeps your beer cold in 115 weather in Az. An your cooler can't keep ice for longer than 5 days in about 75 degree weather in Az.
Have been working at putting my Tundra 45 through the paces and it’s coming through every time. We took it with us camping in Michigan’s U.P. and it held our drinks cold all weekend long. Super well built. I’ve been using it as a bit of a mini fridge in my garage when I don’t have it out on the road with me. I like the size of the 45 as I can still manage to handle it by myself while it’s full. Anything bigger and I might have trouble. Like all of my Yeti products, this cooler is built to last.
I've had my Tundra 45 for about 6 years now and it has been such a great investment! I have used it countless times for so many different trips. But when I Use it for serious trips I always prechill it the night before and depending on the temperatures I get at least 5 days + and then I get a day of very cold water. For tailgating I get about 2 days, but thats honestly because people are so frequently in and out that the hot air is being let in so much that its hard to keep it cold inside, so thats to be expected! But if you are looking for a good/tough cooler for long trips and car camping this is a great investment!
I have taken this cooler on multiple 6 hour fishing trips. It kept the snacks and drinks cool the entire time even while sitting exposed to the hot Okinawa sun. I was surprised how well it remained planted even in some heavy seas without the need to be tied down.
Took the time to pre-chill the 45 before loading it with food and drinks for a long road trip. There was still ice on Wednesday from the Thursday prior. Couldn’t be happier with the cooler and can tell it’s going to last a long time.
Filled with ice and pre-chilled drinks....day 5 and still is 1/4 full of ice and cold drinks!! In an SUV in summer the whole time, Impressive. Only reason for 4 stars is bc around the drain plug is sweating and getting the floor wet (slightly. I have a rubber floor liner so isn't a big deal, but to anyone that has in a seat, ect this may be a problem.
Just added the 45 to our collection of coolers. We've collected many brands & sizes over 25 years. We picked up our first Yeti (210) not long ago and we're blown away by the build quality of Yeti. When the need arose for a cooler to haul a dozen or so items, getting another Yeti was a no-brainer. No other brand comes remotely close!!
Extremely disappointed in this after the money I spent on it. Filled it up with up and drinks, drove 3 hours in my air conditioned car and when I arrived at my location there was nothing but water in the cooler....every piece of ice had melted!!!!
Bought this one and the 65 for a camping trip in the hot and humid weather. Took the advice to pre-cool the cooler prior to loading. Both coolers were in the direct sunlight for periods of time at high sun as it moves across the camp. Contents remained ICE COLD! Other coolers our friends used did not stand up nearly as well. Their ice melted quickly. On average, I got a day and a half to two days of unmelted ice and cold contents. Great Product!
Bought this cooler about a month ago and took it on a week long camping trip. The weather was very hot yet the Yeti kept our drinks cold and always had ice in it. Was very impressed with how the product functioned. Will definitely be looking for another.
Heavy cooler, looks great, basket helps keeps sandwiches dry. Took it out on boat on a hot day for about 6hrs and ice did not keep as well as we expected. We are in and out of cooler a lot for drinks and about 1/3 melted. We heard similar story from friends but they said it helps to “prep”cooler with ice and water so we’ll try that next time!
Love the rugged design and it really does keep ice
I bought the tundra 45 first naively not realizing how big it was! Returned it with absolutely no problems and got my money back within a week! What amazing customer service and what an amazing cooler! Worth every penny
