{"reviews":[{"id":8009217,"locale":"en_US","rating":4,"title":"Great Reel","text":"This is a great reel. I use it for Channel Cats and Striper. It's lightweight at 17oz with line. Paired with a 7' to 8' rod and 1oz to 2oz weight I can sling baits pretty far. I swapped out the 3 internal bushings for bearings off Amzn. Excellent reel after the upgrade. Cant beat it for the money, some pretty good deals here and elsewhere. Use the 689zz(2) and 688zz(1) bearings to make it an awesome reel, videos are on the tube. The low gear ratio has alot of torque for bringing in larger fish. I also have the 888 and 808 which are basically the same but built heavier and have more bearings I think. I prefer the 808 for simplicity and weight savings. Some people may complain about failed parts, just go to customer service and ask for replacements. Zebco stands by their product and the replacement parts are usually free. Also use big 5 or 6 size circle hooks on a foot of leader after the weight for good results.","textLength":924,"csFlag":false,"inappropriateFlag":false,"reviewedFlag":false,"autoModerated":false,"published":true,"incentivized":false,"upVotes":0,"downVotes":0,"orderId":null,"dimensions":[],"responses":[],"tags":[],"media":{"photo":[],"video":[],"audio":[]},"user":{"nickName":null,"firstName":null,"lastName":null,"emailAddress":null,"externalId":null,"city":null,"state":null,"country":null,"ageRange":null,"badge":null,"shopperProfiles":[]},"reviewedDate":null,"purchaseDate":null,"dateCreated":"2026-02-15T00:00:00-05:00","customData":[],"acceptedTermsAndConditions":true,"incentiveType":null,"campaign":null,"deviceFingerprint":null,"topics":[],"syndication":{"sourceName":"Zebco","siteUrl":"https://www.zebco.com/","logoUrl":"https://images.turnto.com/site/syndicationlogos/2038_LH48.png"},"catalogItems":[{"sku":"32784-808JBX3","title":"Zebco 808 Spincast Fishing Reel","url":"https://www.scheels.com/p/32784-808JBX3","category":"fishing-spincast-reels","reviewCount":1,"ratingCount":1,"averageRating":4,"ratingBreakdown":{"1":0,"2":0,"3":0,"4":1,"5":0},"active":true,"attributes":[]}]}],"offset":0,"limit":10,"total":1,"gtin":"032784638889"}"Full Description:\nTough, durable and dependable. The 808 is fishing‘s most popular large spincast reel, featuring a hardy anti-reverse system and a push-button that‘s anchored to the body of the reel for a much more solid feel.\n\nFeatures:\n\u003cul>\n\u003cli>EASY-TO-USE: The Zebco 808 spincast reel features a patented no-tangle design and simple push-button mechanics that are anchored to the body of the reel for ease of use and a much more solid feel. The large 808 reel is a fishing favorite and is great for both beginners and experienced anglers to fish all day with ease; SMOOTH & HEAVY-DUTY: This size 80 spincast reel is ready for extreme fishing conditions, constructed with all-metal gears and a 2.6:1 gear ratio for a silky smooth and consistent performance that will stand tough for many fishing adventures to come. Designed with long-lasting materials like the ceramic pick-up pin that reduces friction from heavy wear and is resistant to line abrasion compared to softer materials used in competitor reels where the line friction can cause grooves in the pick-up pin to form which can cut your fishing line; BUILT-IN BITE ALERT: You will be amazed by the built-in bite alert designed to alert anglers of activity below the water. Bite alert is a mechanical system that disengages the anti-reverse of the reel and engages a clicker to create a sound when line is being taken out so you will not be mistaken when your next trophy is on the line; POWERFUL PERFORMANCE: Utilize the increased power of the dial-adjustable Magnum drag and the quickset anti-reverse features to stop your handle from moving backward and create a solid hookset in the mouth of a fish when reeling in your prize catch. This reel is ambidextrous with the convenient changeable right- or left-hand retrieve option and pre-spooled with 20-pound Zebco fishing line so you can start catching catfish, striper and saltwater fish sooner; TRUSTED: Since 1949\u003c/li>\n\u003cli>Zebco has been inviting people to explore the outdoors.
