This has been a fantastic improvement across the board. She really appreciates the added features like sleep score, HRV status, and expanded workout options. The AMOLED display is a big step up — much brighter and more vibrant than her previous watch. Battery life has also been excellent. After five years, the Forerunner 45S was only holding a charge for 2-3 days. This new watch easily lasts a week or more on a single charge. Overall, this was a worthwhile upgrade. In the beginning it was spot on, however gradually my step counts and heart rate seem to keep getting more and more off. I tried resetting, manually entering my stride, and some other things I've read on forums and it's still off, sometimes by close to half a mile. The bad stuff: I thought this was an upgrade from my old Vivo 4, but it has no altimeter function, so stair step counts are no longer available, which I really miss. The other thing is that, on my watch anyway, the \"Always On\" function is intermittent; sometimes it works as it should (display always on but dimmed, then brightens and animates when you tip your wrist toward you to check the time), and other times the display is off until I actually press the touch screen. This is annoying; one shouldn't need two hands to check the time. I contacted Garmin tech support about this, and they had me jump through a bunch of hoops--including posting a video of me proving I had actually selected \"Always On\"--and now weeks have gone by, and after repeated contact I've heard nothing back.
