Brand new it had a chemical/new odor to it which might go away. That said, I think it attracts unwanted visitors. I used it 2 nights for the montana turkey opener 24 and found over 2 dozen wasps. I lost count after that actually. 2 were in the zipper area, THAT was fun! One on the canvas and the rest were underneath the tent, above the ground tarp. Thankfully I'd been breaking down camp otherwise they might jave stung feet at some point. \nTest can be erected by one person. Stakes go in in rocky ground.
