Product Description

About the only complaint we hear about our riflescopes is that they aren't cheap. Nightforce riflescopes will never be "cheap." The quality of materials the precise tolerances the skilled workmanship and the need to withstand a lifetime of recoil make it physically impossible to build a world-class riflescope that is "cheap." But we thought perhaps we could make one a little more affordable.

One of the most difficult challenges we've ever faced was building a riflescope that is worthy of the Nightforce name in every regard-yet within the reach of a wider range of hunters and shooters who don't need the "overbuilt" characteristics of our NXS™ series most of which were originally created to withstand actual combat conditions.

It wasn't easy. But we did it by limiting some options offering simpler controls and using a less complex manufacturing process...not by reducing the quality of its components.Welcome to the Nightforce 4-14 x 56 SHV™. We are confident it will outperform any riflescope in its price range. And frankly many that cost much much more.

All we cut were costs. Not corners.

Meh, nothing really stands out as premium. Would not buy again
Decent scope, just not all that its cracked up to be. Yes the glass is clear, parallax adjusts as expected and the image is good at 14×. If you are accustomed to looking through mid range leupold or an upper end range vortex, this optic will not wow you in any aspect and will probably be a little disappointing. The elevation and windage adjustments are extremely crisp with a positive click and very little play in between, probably the highlight of the scope. The illumination is the most disappointing feature. There are 11 settings with off in between each one. On the higher settings there is a lot of red light bleed off into the outer perimeter of the scope and reticle marks, creating a hazy semi halo around the crosshairs. The light is not centered, but illuminates more of the left side than an even pattern. The knob feels cheap and spins way to easy without positive clicks or a lock position. I can see this turning itself on and off simply putting it in/out of a scabbard or soft case. Im assuming the finish is anodizing and it's kind of disappointing. Not smooth, but more of a very light textured feel with gray chalky residue all over. They lens covers are worthless and I wouldn't use them to protect a BB gun scope, let alone an $1100 optic.
