I researched scopes till I was blue in the face. Here’s the thing: I can appreciate paying for quality. But $1000 plus for for a tactical scope? Unless I’m special forces or a top level competition shooter, in my opinion paying anything over $600 for a scope is throwing money in the trash. Also, I get it, Eotech stuff is awesome. But I invested in a sub-MOA quality AR and if you’re going to shoot accurate groups at 100 yards or more you need some decent magnification. Finally, while I’m at it, Vortex scopes at the entry level price point are overrated, in my opinion. I just couldn’t bring myself to buy a Chinese scope. (The Burris is made in the Philippines, is that better? I don’t know, but it’s not China.) The glass on this scope is clear, the reticle is etched and works even without battery, when illuminated target acquisition is quick, true 1x power is great for close range and the 6x helps you reach out to longer distances. Is it the best scope you can buy? Absolutely not. Is it all the scope you need and more for 98% of shooters? Yes.
I haven’t owned this optic long enough for an in depth review, but I can say that it’s Illumination settings are very practical along with the reticle. You’d have a very hard time finding a better value
